The explicit coded diaries of the 'first modern lesbian'
Anne Lister, famously known as 'Gentleman Jack', could easily have disappeared into history if it wasn't for the incredible content of her diaries.
A large proportion of these diaries were written in a secret code of Anne's creation that hid explicit details about her love life with other women 200 years ago, which has re-written our understanding of LGBTQ history.
