"The plan was to come into this camp and definitely get two wins so we're happy with that and it's always nice to score.

"You can only score goals like mine when the delivery is as good and all I had to get was a tiny touch to it.

"We have worked on set pieces and it has paid off."

The Republic of Ireland were technically better, but not just with their feet. We were stronger and faster than Greece and those things we under utilised in the game

On the game: "Overall, I think we completely dominated the game but those moments we need to manage.

"I'm proud of the players for actually managing that [Greece's threat] as there were some edgy moments. But for me two wins was massively important and that is huge for us going into the final two games.

On the disappointment of conceding: "After that, we needed a reaction. There were moments we probably could have managed it better and there were bits we need to work on moving forward but this is a group that is loving to learn. They want to improve all the time.

"We know there was a lot of good stuff tonight, there were some excellent performances tonight but there is stuff we need to improve and we'll leave no stone unturned."

Penalty scorer Amber Barrett on RTE:

"I've done well during the week and the result on Friday was a good step forward.

"Unfortunately we lost Kyra Carusa this evening and that's the importance of a squad, you have to be willing and ready to play at any stages so of course I was delighted to start tonight.

"I don't think we caused them enough problems. The goalkeeper didn't have a lot to do and I think that's where we need to take the next step."

Aoife Mannion does the basics well.

She very rarely loses possession. She knows when to take one touch and when to play and suck defenders in.

"It was a little bit tricky in the last ten minutes, but we got the job done and the three points which is the most important thing for the next round of games.

"We know we can be better. It was encouraging that we had so many opportunities, so many chances and so may shots but we just have to be a little bit tighter in defence and put our chances away.

"I'm delighted for Amber Barrett getting that penalty. She scored in our last game, her 50th cap.

"It could have been in or outside the box- who knows. Those decisions sometimes go for you and go against you as well. I think if it wasn't that we'd scored from, it would have been another chance.

"I wouldn't say we were lucky tonight I'd say that, if anything, we were unlucky that we didn't put more chances away but we have to create our own luck and do better taking our chances."

The Republic of Ireland secure three crucial points thanks to goals from Amber Barrett and Anna Patten.

Megan Campbell is the first player of the game to be cautioned as she is booked for time wasting.

Northern Ireland manager Tanya Oxtoby, speaking to BBC Sport NI: "I think it was successful from our point of view. We knew it was going to be tougher than people maybe expected. I think the other results in the group have shown it's a really tight race and there are no easy games, so to get a result at home, I'm ecstatic.

"I asked for a little bit more resilience in the defensive third. We knew Romania would create chances in the way that they play. I said, 'defend for your lives', and I think we did tonight. A clean sheet and no defeat, that's the motto. I give the defenders a lot of credit and the kids were sensational. Keri [Halliday] to Kascie [Weir] for the goal is something we have been working on so I'm really pleased for them that they have got reward for that."

Marissa Sheva can't steer her effort from just outside the box towards goal as we enter the final five minutes of the game.

Another good delivery from Megan Campbell causes a scramble in the box before finding Lucy Quinn, whose effort is palmed over by Zoi Nasi.

Goalscorer Veatriki Sarri turns provider as she finds Ioanna Papatheodorov, who does well to weave around Jessie Stapleton, but her shot isn't as convincing as the build-up play and is a comfortable save for Courtney Brosnan.
