Bristol Rovers attempted to mount a second-half comeback against Exeter City but it was too little, too late.

They lost 2-1 while Burton Albion rose to a 3-0 victory over play-off chasing Huddersfield to see the Gas fall into the bottom four.

It also means Shrewsbury live to fight another day after clawing back a 1-0 deficit to pick up a point against Lincoln City.

Meanwhile, Wigan's point sees them move above Mansfield Town on goal difference.

Earlier in the day, we saw Birmingham crowned champions and Wycombe climb to within one point of the automatic promotion spot after Wrexham's stalemate against Wigan Athletic.

Stockport and Charlton both win to keep the pressure on Wrexham and Wycombe.

Meanwhile, Reading's goalless encounter with Northampton Town was enough to see them stay in the last play-off position.

But hot on their heels is Leyton Orient, who overtake Bolton Wanderers and Huddersfield to rise just three points beneath the line.

Both the Terriers and Bolton will be disappointed, having both suffered a second successive loss to find themselves with work to do to get up into the top six.

The top of the table looks good for Port Vale this evening following their 5-0 thumping of Bromley.

Darren Moore's side now hold a three-point lead over Bradford and a five-point buffer over the play-off spots.

Who else could win automatic promotion is anyone's guess with Walsall now 10 games without a win following their defeat at Barrow.

And the race for a play-off place is still one heck of a bun fight.

Carlisle were the day's big winners at the bottom with their victory at Morecambe and Accrington's surrendering of a 3-0 lead in their draw with Tranmere giving the Cumbrians renewed hope.

On the quiet, Harrogate scored two late goals to draw 2-2 with Grimsby and all but secure their EFL status.

Easter Monday's game between Accrington Stanley and Carlisle United suddenly became even bigger.

Leaders at the start of the day Bradford slipped up away at Swindon. Having led 4-3 going into the last minute, Graham Alexander's side left the County Ground with nothing after conceding two late goals.

Grimsby were cruising against Harrogate, but concede twice late and that one ends in a draw, 2-2.

Colchester and Chesterfield take advantage to move closer to the play-offs. The former win 2-0 at Newport, while the Spireites put three past Fleetwood.

A last-minute Bradley Dack winner gives Gareth Ainsworth his first win as Gillingham boss at home to MK Dons.

Stockport keep up their faint hopes of sneaking the second automatic play-off spot behind champions Birmingham, coming from behind to beat Rotherham 3-1.

Bolton's play-off hopes suffer a setback with a 3-1 defeat away at Barnsley.

Earlier in the day, Wycombe grabbed a late winner against Stevenage to move within a point of Wrexham in second.

The Welsh side were held at Wigan, a result that crowned Birmingham City as champions.
